2017 RESOLUTIONS
Am back again, the love and excitement from everyone to read more is just overwhelming. Am now more motivated to sit down and continue sharing my life lessons with you. God has been faithful It's only through His grace that this piece is ready.
Moving on swiftly to part II. Imagine with me here, you wake up one beautiful Sunday morning, put on your best outfit and get out to go to church. As per your usual expectation, the choir is to be at the altar looking all angelic and sounding like they just landed from heaven, all are super holy. You slowly get into the Church, as you keep walking, you notice that there's something different. For the very first time, the choir is not present, before you could actually process that, you hear some beautiful voices singing your favourite hymn. You look, toss and turn but no one is in sight and you still can't pick up exactly where the sweet melody is coming from. You think probably the sound guy who serves in church might have left the music on to check on something. Several minutes later, no one seems to be in sight. They say curiosity killed the cat but it's too late to think about that now. You slowly and carefully move towards the speakers, mixer and finally the computer. Shock on you all of them are off.
Your heart starts to beat faster, it's literally pounding like 1000 times per minute, your eyes are almost popping due to disbelief, your feet are getting weaker and weaker and clearly you are struggling to put yourself together. Then just before you could figure out what is happening and the next step to take, whether to graciously join in the singing, or run or probably just pass out and hope to wake up from this dream,a great, and mighty voice is heard, this time round you think that you've definitely gone bananas. Then God identifies Himself to you. At that moment you are reminded of Luke 19:40 "I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."
At that moment everything just breaks loose, your legs give way and you fall on your knees, unsure of whether to be apologetic or just mourn.
I find this theory so profound and deep. It made me think twice about all the gifts and talents that God has given me and what exactly am doing with them. Kwanza the way I have so many gifts, remember the Matthew Effect "to whom much is given much is expected" Luke 12:48. Now here I realised that Nikubaya I mean it's bad, like literally. I thought about this as I was making my 2017 resolutions and decided to do something about it. I promised to do everything in my power to use my gifts and talents especially in music among other abilities that I have. This wasn't like easy pizzy, it needed time, resources, it also called for sacrifice to get through it.
I still wasn't comfortable with it, I mean, meet as usual, sing and call it a day. Nothing really new nor different from the usual way of doing it. I never noticed it was so bad until when I was reading Chris Mureithi's book of The Realities of the 21st Century, he points out that " It might not be broken, but that does not mean that it should not be improved. The people who have cars take their cars for regular service after hitting a certain mileage, not because the car has broken down but because it's necessary to maintain the car operation at optimum level. Failure to do so is just a matter of time before the engine knocks down". This simply means that we've been entrusted by God to use our gifts and talents effectively to serve Him and also we are tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that we not only grow in them but also have a continuous involvement with God as we serve. In doing so we not only build our gifts but also grow deeper in the word as the vine and it's branches hence being prosperous.
As this year comes to an end, I can say with great conviction that, I've built my gifts not only music but others also as I continue to discover them. Currently apart from writing, am in music school trying to better my vocals and also running several projects that build me up. Always remembering that our God is a God of excellence.
Am much excited to welcome 2018 with a bang, aggressively working towards my set goals ( I hope to share them much later). What motivates me is Matthew 25:21
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness"! , It will be great to finally make it to heaven and receive the crown for being faithful.

My question to you is
- What are your gifts?
- What are you doing about it?
- What will you account for after all is said and done?
