Being Happy is a CHOICE

What is the one thing that your heart beats for now? What's your desire? What is it that you really want? One that, if presented to you right now you will definitely be happy and contented? You be head over heals excited about it? As you think about it let me say after school, everyone was obviously doing well. This was so evident with the constant photos on Facebook and Instagram. At one point I was so intimidated on accessing these sites. Don't get me wrong, I had no problem with the public display of affection and success all flushed out on their walls, but it's the society expectations that go so overboard. Their story was the same, am the only one who seemed to be doing slightly different from expected social growth patterns? I guess so. At that time, the only song that is in my head is "It's well with my soul" I mean have you ever been in a state that nothing seems to work. For every life situation you look at the positives and it turns out to be bad, yani your life is an example of life worst case scenario. You evaluate your job, actually when it's around the 20th or so, you make your budget very well expecting to utilise your salary well. Come end month, you can't explain what exactly you are doing with your money. You forever seem broke. To make the matters worse, that's not the only place that your life is hanging on a thread. Your relationships , career or probably health could be at stake.
I kept telling myself one excuse after the other on why I probably wasn't happy because; you know am unmarried and a single mother (by then, now am in another category, story for another day), I don't have a good job (my opinion) and on and so forth. All this reasons didn't help, they just made my life more difficult.
Then I came across this saying "Being Happy is a CHOICE" wow, that simply means that if am unhappy, then it's basically my fault, because happiness comes from within. It's an expression of what you already have.
Coming back to my earlier question, what do you really desire? A lot of people will say "I need more money" which is a good thing but we are warned in 1 Timothy 6:10 That money is the root of all evil. I know by this point you are trying to quantify and qualify why you need that money. Anyway let me ask, what if we said I need more of God in my life. Remember Matthew 6:33 Says But seek ye first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness and ALL these thing's shall be added unto you.
It's ALL. It really doesn't matter what you need there's nothing that is so difficult for him Jeremiah 33:27 All you need is to accept that you can't do it out of your own efforts.
There are things I decided to do by the end of the year. I really didn't take time to ask God for guidance, probably I thought they were either too big or too small for Him to handle. We are always told that "we need to know the right people" Every single time I've seen those plans crumble down even when you were the in the best playout with "people who are known/ connections". On the other hand I've seen thing working out, I must admit that, during this time sometimes my faith is like that of a mustard seed (like literally) so small, mostly because I'm on a rock and a hard place and maybe that's the last and only option remaining and there are no back up plans.
I want to make a few changes come the year 2018. I don't want God to be my one of my options. I want Him to be my plan. I desire to be so inclined to him. To submit to His will and to let Him be the Centre of my life. No more struggles, worries or uncertainty, but a life filled with Peace because I know who owns my future.

  God did you really say ….. This sounds like one of the phrases we use most. Don't feel offended I use it too, more times than I can remember. There are times that my faith is shaken to the core.
